Does sperm react to chemotherapy?

I recently had major surgery due to carcinoma tumor in my small intestine, and have started a year of chemo. It has been 2 months since the surgery and would like to restart intimate relations with my girlfriend. I understand that chemo does affect sperm counts but was wondering if it had other effects as well...such as potentially ping on live or dead cancer cells during ejaculation, or potentially harming the partner if sperm was ingested?
