How do I know if a guy likes me even though I am SUPER ugly/fat!!!?

I really like this guy and I am a bit older than him... but the only problem is that he is really popular! I am in middle school and want to know how to get him to like me even more. He looks at me all the time in homeroom and other cles we have together. We joke around ALL the time. But I think he likes this other girl who is pretty and skinny and popular. I just wanna no how to get him to like me and/or like me even more.... Please Please Pleas HELP!!!! :D :D :D :D
